The Community Parent Coalition (CPC) is all about the positive.

  •  Positive Messages
  •  Positive Events
  •  Positive Progress. 

In an effort to incorporate and encourage a positive environment among the student body, we have implemented the  P.A.R. program. 

Positive Action Recognition

We have created PARcards (attached) 

Keep an eye out for positive actions among the students. 

  • Holding a door
  • helping with heavy materials
  • comforting a friend
  • helping another student. 

MORE EXAMPLES to Recognize:

  • Showing Growth and Maturity

  • Sharing Good Ideas with Others

  • When a kid who has been struggling makes progress!!

The list of positive things that kids can do is endless.

Beyond keeping  eyes open, we are asking that staff  take a moment to fill out one of the PARcards and drop it in the fish bowl in the teachers lounge.

We will collect the PARcards and use them to reaffirm to the students that they are doing the right thing, making good choices. We will also use the cards to inform the community of the positive behaviors exhibited by their Julian Students. We will do this via a report to the Julian News These PARcards will also (as the program grows) be distributed to the community merchants. So you see, it is our intention to make this a Grand Program that serves to encourage our kids to participate in POSITIVE behavior.

Also as the program grows we hope to implement a reward program. This will come into play as our organization grows and we are able to implement such a program.

It is my sincere hope that you will embrace this program and play an active role in its success.

Why The PAR Program is Important:

1. Focusing on Positive—Builds Positive.  When people are recognized for their positive behaviors they continue those  behaviors and more!

2. Peers learn by example. When kids see other kids make positive choices they often adopt the good habits themselves—causing positive behavior to SPREAD!

3. When Positive Spreads we ALL Benefit. You have a better group of kids to work with. Our community is SAFER, More Nurturing and the People in the Community Are Happier as a whole!!

4. It takes a Village!!  If it’s not YOU, Then Who?  We (YOU AND I) must take a ACTIVE role in creating the environment we want to live and work in.  “Be the Change You Want to See.”  Your Personal commitment is a vital part of creating a positive place for US ALL!
